Recruiting affiliates is a delicate task and requires skill and tact. You have to make sure that your mode of recruitment is one that will really attract potential affiliates.

Regardless of what you are doing currently, you will want to make sure that you adopt the best strategies for recruitment in the future.

There is a lot of affiliate recruiting mistakes that turn anybody off. The point is, don’t make any of them. Here are some of them:

• Email templates: Sending out emails is still one of the easiest ways to lure any potential affiliate. With so many people to send it to, it’s hard to avoid using a template. Everybody does it.

Now, templates can work well in many scenarios; however, when they are used poorly, they often get terrible results, which could potentially turn off affiliates permanently.

One such mistake is forgetting to include any specific information about the affiliate you are emailing. So, if you are planning, or if you already are, sending out emails to affiliates, make sure to personalize them.

To personalize an email, all you have to do is input the receiver’s name in the greeting; and include specific information about him or his business in the body.

It might take time and effort, but it will increase your chances of capturing affiliates. Through this, you can guarantee that you are adding somebody new in your affiliate list.

• Stripping your affiliate program naked to strangers: A lot of affiliate programs often think that in order to attract potential affiliates, they should put everything that there is to know about their program in the open.

While giving a person an idea of what your affiliate is all about is not a bad thing to do, giving them everything there is to know about your company is bad. If you do this, you will end up with one of these four problems:

1. Losing a potential affiliate’s interest, as they will be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information offered
2. Not earn potential money since the reader won’t bother to register
3. Being compared to other programs
4. Be spied or copied by other companies/ programs

• Too rigid or lax recruitment: When it comes to recruiting an affiliate, you have to do it just right. When you are too rigid, you will end up screening out too many affiliates. While if you are too lax, you will end up having affiliates who are not what you might want to have.

When you recruit affiliates, you have to have a strategy or system. This strategy has to be one that will enable you to know the person first before you accept or refuse him. No matter how you do it, the principle should be one that will not make you regret later on.

There are a lot more common mistakes that you can make, or are making already, when it comes to recruiting affiliates. The truth is that you’ll never know unless they are pointed out to you. To know more common mistakes and avoid making them, go to “AffiliateMarketingHQ.com” for a free report.
